Port Location
|
TaiCang portis located on the deep-water bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River(latitude 31 ,39 N ,longitude 121 ,12 E )
Suzhou ,Wuxi and Changzhou lying to its west ,and bordering on Shanghai to the southeast .
It is only 30KM away from Wusongkou ,the mouth of the Yangtze River

Tide
|
We have two times of tide ebb and flow everyday. You may visit the website of Shanghai Pilot Station, say WWW.SH-PILOTS.COM.CN to procure the right now table.

Channel
|
There’re two navigation channels divert the water at the mouth of Yangtze river ,i.e. South channel and North channel ,the former with a base depth of 4.0m while latter 8.5m. it is stipulated that vessels coming with a fresh water draft more than 10.20m and or LOA over 210m.
Pre-declaration must be solicited to JIANGSU MSA and special precaution like tug escorting is to taken.

Pilotage
|
Two pilot stations i.e. Shanghai pilot station and Taicang pilot station ,the latter belongs to the Yangtze Pilot Center , undertake all pilotage commission with aturning/work-shifting point at Baoshan. Pilotage in Yangtze river is compulsory for all vesselsl of foreign flag while choiceful for P.R.C-FLAG vessels depending on the range of captain’s competence certificate and up-to-date experience of in-out Yangtze river.
The whole pilotage from C.J.K to Taicang normally costs around 5 to 6 hours. Pilot boarding position is normally pointed by Shanghai Pilot Stationat CJK SOUTH CHANNEL LIGHT BOAT or CJK BUOY NO.1 WHILE SOMETIMES OTHERS based on vessel’s draft in fresh water and the weather condition.

Local ship chandlers can supply provision , spare parts. While bunking possible but the bunkers from other port. As for fresh water ,we have replenishing device at common stevedoring company.

No ship yard at Taicang , only urgent voyage repairs possible.

For general cargo and container Taicang has 520000 square meters yard and three warehouse (Total 20%86 square meters ) while for bulk chemical and oil , Taicang has consignee’s shore tanks and public tanks.

Guide for Entry
Sinoagent Taicang will arrange pilotage with two aforesaid Pilot Station and revert the scheduld and place of POB to captain one day before vesselsl arrival at CJK, also he will trace vessel’s ETA in advance in case no information sent by captain.I in regards of Port Papers , he will send o/b a list to inform captain which document or documents is/are to be prepared together with prevailing regulations/stipulations.
